Windy Hill Foundation is proud to offer secure, comfortable, and energy-efficient homes to low-income families, older adults, and those with disabilities. Our properties vary from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom single-family homes at rental rates that are well below the average in our area. Many of our properties are Federally-subsidized and can only be rented to families who fall under a certain annual income.
The Windy Hill Foundation began with the Windy Hill Renewal Project in 1981. Since that time, the Foundation has developed properties in Middleburg, The Plains, and Brambleton. Our newest communities include Washburn Place in Marshall and Heronview, 96 units of work-force housing, in Sterling.
Windy Hill Foundation, in partnership with Property Management firms such as TM Associates, seeks to offer quality housing to individuals, families, and older adults in our community who may need assistance meeting the rent demands in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties. The reason we provide affordable housing is because of the many families who need it. Every person deserves to have a roof over their head. In the Loudoun County area, that basic need can be incredibly hard to fulfill. We work with the Federal Government to provide rent subsidies whenever we can. Along with keeping rental rates affordable, we are able to make a small but meaningful contribution to affordable housing in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties.
Energy-efficiency is a priority.
Whenever we build new properties or renovate old ones, we make our best effort to make them “green”-certified and energy-efficient. Energy-efficiency helps our residents to save money on energy bills, reduces mold and moisture problems, and contributes to cleaner air. Providing a healthy living environment is a priority at all our properties.
